while the World Poker Tour (WPT) Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open (RRPO) enters its home stretch, Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood officials made a big announcement when they revealed the schedule for the 2023 Lucky Hearts Poker Open (LHPO)which will run from Jan 12-24.
The series featured 43 trophy events over the course of 13 days with nearly $5.5 million in guarantees! The series will kick off with a $600 buy-in, $1 million GTD Deep Stack eventwhile a $25K high rollers with a million guarantee of its own will follow in the middle of the series. The stop will then culminate with the $3,500 buy-in, $2 million GTD LHPO Championship.
Looking to Follow Up on 2022’s Success
In 2022, the LHPO featured 33 trophy events and catered 15,321 combined entries while awarding $16.5 million in prize money!
Among those to claim titles during the series were Farid Yattin (Event #1: $600 NLH for $306,832 and Event #33: $2,200 PLO for $58,410), Scott Baumstein (Event #7: $1,100 NLH for $60,006 and Event #17: $1,100 NLH for $96,795), Yuval Bronsstein (Event #9: $400 OE for $9,020 and Event #32: $600 HORSE for $11,750), James Romero (Event #19: $2,200 NLH for $167,285), Jonathan Jaffe (Event #28: $25,000 High Roller for $574,085), and Taylor Von Kriegenbergh (Event #31: $5,000 NLH for $220,495).
As for the 2022 WPT LHPO Championship, that tournament proved to be the second-largest in WPT history with 1,982 runners that more than tripled the $2 million guarantee by offering up a $6,342,400 prize pool. Alex Yen took down that tournament for a whopping $975,240.
