Senior tournaments became much more difficult than Daniel Lowery He turned 50 on November 25th and it wasn’t long before he picked up another age-restricted poker award in his highly competitive career.
By winning the WPT $10,000 Seniors NLH High Rollers Just weeks after his 50th birthday, Lowery became likely one of the youngest players ever to win an over-50 event. He defeated another familiar face at the crime scene, Judy Bielanherself an accomplished player with tournament winnings well over $500,000 and a long list of prize money on the WSOP Circuit and throughout Florida in 2023.
The win – in which Lowery bested a field of 162 runners to take home $394,636 – was also the biggest win of his career, but that’s no surprise to those who have spent time with one of poker’s road warriors.
The big prize gave Lowery over $3 million in winnings, according to Hendon Mob, and came just a week after his 18th-place finish in the $1,100 WPT Prime Championship for $53,500. It also caps off another stellar year for the traveling player, taking on buy-ins both large and small.
Lowery started the year with a six-figure win A whopping $500 at the WSOP Circuit stop in Durant, Oklahoma, where the victory earned him his 11th ring – his first of four this year and $102,511.
His next five-figure win came in March in the $800 Main Event RunGood Poker Series Stop in the Bay Area Graton Casino. Lowery received $88,870 for his second-place finish on a tour where he has become a fixture across the country.

Lowery’s next WSOPC rings came in April at the St. Maarten International circuit, where he won a $300 Turbo Ring event for $8,500, and at the Tunica Stop, where he won the $400 opener for $16,739. This was followed by a third-place finish in a $400 event at the WSOPC Cherokee in North Carolina before spending part of the summer at the WSOP in Las Vegas. Lowery cashed four times in the 2023 series, finishing in sixth place $1,000 Super Turbo Bonus for $45,741.
After the series, he hit the road again and continued to cash out at RGPS events and on the WSOP circuit. It was the late August WSOPC stop at the Bay Area’s Graton Casino where Lowery won his 14th ring in the $1,125 PLO tournament before heading to Baltimore and winning another RGPS ring in the $400 Bounty at a September stop. event picked up.
After Baltimore, he traveled to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to finish third in the Main Event of that WSOP circuit stop, then returned to Graton in October to win another RGPS ring in the Big O. Lowery dropped a few more prizes at the WSOPC stops in Durant, Lake Tahoe and Cherokee before returning to Las Vegas for the WPT World Championship Series.
The $53,500 result at the WPT Prime Championship would have been a great end to the year for anyone, but the Seniors event title and nearly $400,000 is an exclamation point on another great year for Lowery, who has become a hallmark for Consistency and achievement has become kindness wherever he goes.
