888Ride: Ben Lamb wants to get the High Stakes Golf Show up and running

Ben Lamb

888poker has once again treated poker fans to another excellent episode of their YouTube show 888Ride. The poker player in the passenger seat of the latest edition is the 2011 WSOP Player of the Year Ben Lamb.

Although Lamb has an impressive poker record with two WSOP bracelets and two Main Event final tables, he now prefers to keep a relatively low profile. He shared that he has limited his poker play to a modest 50-60 days per year while focusing on the $50,000 buy-in PLO event at the WSOP.

He also reflected on his successes at the WSOP and spoke openly about the mental and emotional toll he endured.

Beyond the poker scene, Lamb has shifted his focus to another passion: golf. His passion for the game goes hand in hand with a commitment to continuous improvement as he places high stakes in every game of golf.

Surprisingly, Lamb hints at an upcoming project – a new show centered around the intense world of high-stakes golf betting.

With total live winnings of $16,233,116, Lamb is ranked 66th The Hendon Mob All Time Money List, with the majority of that falling under the WSOP umbrella ($9,160,821). In the interview, he reflects on some of his results at poker’s premier festival, including two bracelet wins and three deep runs in the Main Event.

On winning the Main Event: “It’s every poker player’s dream. It’s still my dream.”

Before he made his first Main Event final table appearance in 2011, Lamb was almost one of them November 9th However, he was eliminated in 14th place for $633,022.

“When there are so few and you don’t win or finish in the top three, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth,” Lamb said.

“When you’re this deep in the main event, it’s about more than just the money. You’ve been playing in a tournament for seven or eight days. You’re tired, you’re emotionally drained. A two-outer becomes a nightmare.” Situation… you think: No Jack please, no Jack please.

“The Main Event is like any other poker tournament until then [a few hundred hundred remain]. Now it is a task that can be done. It becomes attainable. It becomes super real: Okay, maybe I’ll win the main event. It is every poker player’s dream. It’s still my dream.

High-stakes golf in the works?

Golf clubs

These days, Lamb much prefers playing high-stakes golf to poker and shared some details about a project he’s currently working on.

“So I’ve had this idea for two or three years. We will be shooting a pilot in the next few weeks. I’ve been working with production companies and a few other sponsors over the last six months to get something together.” A life that would involve extremely high stakes on the golf course.

Tuchman summarized the idea: High stakes poker but on the golf course.

“Hopefully I can catch Mori [Eskandari] (HSP founder) caught years ago,” Lamb said. “Even if I could capture half of them, I would be happy.”

“There will be a lot of prop betting. We’re going to gamify it in a way, and we’re still working on the details. I want there to be a hard minimum of $5,000 per hole.”
