The PokerStars US Winter Series promises a $5 million prize pool to be awarded from January 12th to January 29th in the site’s regulated states.
While there are many events worth taking part in and the hefty prize pools that come with them, we have highlighted five events PokerStars Pennsylvania and the shared liquidity PokerStars platform in Michigan And New Jersey.
These five tournaments on each site have huge prize pools that could help boost your bankroll for 2024. The Winter Series includes 85 events in PA and 85 in MI/NJ. Best Winter Series events in PA
The state of Pennsylvania has become a hotbed for online poker, and PokerStars is the top site to play for a variety of reasons, including tournament series like the one coming up in the coming days. Poker players in Eagles and Steelers country can take part in three main events, all two-day tournaments, starting January 28th.
The $300 buy-in for the Main Event The ultimate highlight of the series at 6 p.m. offers a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000. Players start with 250,000 chips, 250 big blinds and can re-enter up to four times. There are four additional events that should also be on your must-play list. They are as follows:
January 14, $100 buy-in Sunday Special NLH at 6:00 p.m.: For just a hundred dollars, players can win a share of the $70,000 prize pool. Given the cheap entry fee and huge prize pool, it’s hard to find better value for money. Additionally, starting with 50,000 chips and 200 big blinds allows for some wiggle room.
January 15, $250 buy-in Battle Royale NLH High Roller at 7:00 p.m.: The tournament offers a minimum pot of $70,000. Due to the deep blind structure (60,000 starting and 200 big blinds deep) and the $125 per player bonus added to the progressive bonus prize pool, this is one of the best tournaments in the program.
January 21, $500 buy-in Sunday High Roller NLH at 7:00 p.m.: This is for higher stakes players looking for great value for money and a turbocharged event that is unlikely to go too late into the night. And with $65,000 guaranteed, you can play for some serious money.
January 23, $500 buy-in Super Tuesday High Roller NLH at 7:00 p.m.: Here’s another high roller for players who want to chase a big prize pool – $50,000 or more – without having to compete in a large field tournament.
The best Winter Series events in MI/NJ
Michigan and New Jersey have a PokerStars site with shared liquidity that always attracts large numbers of participants for any major event. The numbers for the upcoming Winter Series should be no different.
Similar to Pennsylvania, there are three editions of the Main Event, but every player should take part in the $300 buy-in version, which starts at 6 p.m. and promises a prize pool of at least $250,000. Don’t be surprised if this guarantee is lifted long before the registration deadline. The starting stack is 250,000, which corresponds to 250 big blinds. January 23, $500 buy-in Super Tuesday High Roller NLH at 7:00 p.m.: The prize pool is at least $70,000 and players start with 50,000 chips. This event is easily one of the best events for higher stakes players as it has a solid structure and a great guarantee.
