BetMGM, in collaboration with Inspired Entertainment, has launched MGM Bonus City, a new type of online casino game called a “Hybrid Dealer” game. Currently only available in New Jersey but soon available in Pennsylvania and Michigan, it is the only hybrid dealer offering in North America.

Hybrid dealer games combine elements of live dealer and regular internet casino games. As with live dealer games, there is a human on the screen. The difference, however, is that humans are pre-recorded and do not actually deal the games live. And like standard iGaming, the results are all based on RNG.

So that it doesn’t get boring, the dealers and hosts are changed regularly.

As BetMGM gets to the point, the hybrid dealer technology “seamlessly integrates virtual CGI, green screen technology and footage of real dealers” to make the online casino experience as real as possible. So that it doesn’t get boring, the dealers and hosts are changed regularly.

This is essentially a cost-cutting measure that attempts to retain the feel of popular live dealer games. The operator doesn’t have to deal with and pay staff and studios around the clock, but is still able to provide an experience that mimics a live dealer game well enough to keep customers happy.

MGM Bonus City is currently available on desktop, the BetMGM sportsbook app and Android; An iOS version will be available in a few weeks.
