PokerStars US announces Winter Series with $5 million in prize money

Online poker players in North America looking for early tournament action this year are in luck PokerStars USA it announced Winter series with $5 million in prize money in the Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ontario markets.

The PokerStars Winter Series is underway 12–29 January is under the heading Main Event Championships with a $300 buy-in at three festivals (ON, PA, Shared Liquidity).

Over in Pennsylvania, there will be 85 events with $1.5 million in guarantees. Players from Michigan and New Jersey now have 85 events to choose from with $2.25 million in guaranteed prize money. There will be 120 events in Ontario with C$1.7 million up for grabs.

In addition to the $5 million in prize money across the three festivals, the PokerStars Winter Open will award ten special edition watches in special watch events. Additionally, winners of each series leaderboard will receive an additional $10,000.

PokerStars will be running a Deposit Freeroll, meaning players who deposit $50 will receive a ticket to a freeroll where they can secure entry into the Main Event.

There will also be a “Bust Out” promotion where players who exit the series will receive a $5 Casino Bonus and a $5 Spin & Go Bonus. Play at PokerStars Casino for more opportunities to win Winter Series tickets.

  • $50 Mini Main Event with $25,000 Gtd (January 28)
  • $2,000 High Roller with $100,000 Gtd (January 28)

Shared liquidity (MI/NJ):

  • $2.25 million guaranteed across 85 events
  • $300 Main Event with $250,000 Gtd (January 28)
  • $50 Mini Main Event with $50,000 Gtd (January 28)
  • $2,000 High Roller with $100,000 Gtd (January 28)

Ontario:

  • Guaranteed $1.7 million (CAD) across 120 events
  • $300 Main Event with $150,000 Gtd (January 28)
  • $50 Mini Main Event with $50,000 Gtd (January 28)
  • $2,000 High Roller with $100,000 Gtd (January 28)
