Sports betting monitoring firm US Integrity warned operators of suspicious betting activity at a men’s basketball game between Temple University and the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB). The American Athletic Conference (ACC) confirmed that it is aware of the warning and plans to conduct a thorough review of the matter. UAB won Thursday night’s contest 100-72.

US Integrity noticed a significant change in the betting line leading up to the game. UAB was initially a 1.5-point favorite to beat Temple, but the odds rose as high as eight points at one point before finishing at seven points before the start. This level of movement usually occurs when there is a lot of money coming in for a team.

SI.com reported that US Integrity was already closely monitoring Temple’s games. The company works with many NCAA conferences to keep tabs on betting activity and operates an anonymous tipping hotline. It played a role in uncovering a betting scandal involving the University of Alabama head baseball coach in April that led to his firing. The trainer passed inside information to someone who then tried to place a six-figure bet.
